This funny headline was taken from the online news portal of The Malaysian Insider. The statement was issued by none other than Sarawak's very own comedian, the State Chief Minister, Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud at his 28th anniversary dinner as the head of the state.
Being a Sarawakian living in the state for all my living life so far, I am not too sure about Sarawak being the richest state by 2030 but I can definately vouch if the Chief Minister instead said that Sarawak to have the richest ministers and politicians in Malaysia by 2030. Now that is something I can relate to. Sarawak has an abundance of natural resources like petroleum and timber so why 2030, we should already be the richest state by now!!! Why we are not is because at this moment instead we have the richest ministers and politicians in Malaysia.
Yes yes Mr. Chief Minister, with all due respect and whole heartedly the sarcastic punt was intended...KNNCCB!!!

S'wak sd've been the richest State already... but for the fingers in the cookie jar.
ReplyDeleteLook at Brunei, so small and all they have is oil. S'wak is massive, au naturel with timber, petroleum, dam*-hydro, what not. Instead of energy, power and wealth for the State... all that natural resources just transmuted to timber tycoons, Petronas and CM conglomerate.
Well... here's a finger raised to that!
