No entry into Sarawak

After spending much of our state's funds in promoting tourism to Sarawak and what does the government do, they deny people entry into the state.

Pakatan Keadilan Rakyat or PKR Member of Parliament for Padang Serai N. Gobalakrishnan was denied entry into Sarawak by immigration officers under orders from the government at the Kuching International Airport.

Gobalakrishnan quoted :

"The moment I reached the airport, immigration officers told me that I am not allowed to enter due to instructions from the state government".

"The immigration officer gave me a notice which reads ‘Tuan bukan rakyat Sarawak, tidak berhak untuk masuk ke Sarawak tanpa permit atau pas Akta Imigresen 1959-1963′ (You are not a citizen of Sarawak and are not eligible to enter Sarawak without a permit or immigration pass)."

The PKR Member of Parliament left on the next available flight out of Kuching.

What an embarrassing and conceited move by our government to stop the opposition machinery into entering the state. Deplorable is what it is. That's how despicable the UMNO-BN Government are. Recent news about DAP's new rural branches getting tremendous support have definately sent shivers through the Government. As seen recently of SUPP's statement that they never neglected the Iban communities and now deny access of an opposition party leader into the state. Clearly an act of cowardness from UMNO, BN and Taib's administration.
